Description
This brick wall wasn't crafted using AI (Artificial Intelligence), but through traditional, artisanal modeling and Photoshop work. Brick by brick, digitally laid to form this original world map, resulting in this cartographic brick relief.
The virtual bricks are in standard size, and the wall is built in a half-brick bond pattern. Each layer represents five degrees of latitude, while a "stretcher" (the long side of a brick) accounts for twenty degrees of longitude.
There are some unique features too. A row of headers forms the equator, while the polar regions are marked by rows of stretchers. And at the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, there's a layer of headers.
The varied colors of the bricks make for a vibrant wall. Adding some signs of aging - lime deposits, moss, and lichen - adds even more richness to the relief.
Based on a layer height of 62.5 millimeters, this wall would be 2.25 meters high and 4.5 meters wide. Perfect for a life-sized print on wallpaper, but the map also shines on smaller scales.
