Magnificantly located on the crossing of four rivers and traversed by several canals, Dordrecht is a hidden gem among Dutch watercities. This image shows one of the canals, Voorstraathaven, near the 13th century Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe-Kerk ('Our Dear Lady Church') which is partially visible on the left.
I'm a photographer, designer and visual artist based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Lowlands by the Northsea inspire me tremendously.The grandness of their landscapes, the intimacy of their towns. The canals and rivers, the harbours and boats, the windmills, churches and houses. The ever changing skies over polders and floodplains. For centuries, these lands have inspired painters like Van Ruisdael, Vermeer, Mesdag and Maris. I spend many a day exploring the Netherlands by foot or bike, capturing the beauty of the urban and rural scenery with my camera.
