This special "molar" world map shows our planet as seen through the eyes, or rather in the imagination of, a mole: from below. The continents are mirrored and carved out of digital bronze. Also, the red-brown, earthy color of the work fits in well with the perception of the mole.
I'm a photographer, designer and visual artist based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Lowlands by the Northsea inspire me tremendously.The grandness of their landscapes, the intimacy of their towns. The canals and rivers, the harbours and boats, the windmills, churches and houses. The ever changing skies over polders and floodplains. For centuries, these lands have inspired painters like Van Ruisdael, Vermeer, Mesdag and Maris. I spend many a day exploring the Netherlands by foot or bike, capturing the beauty of the urban and rural scenery with my camera. This online gallery proudly shows some of my favorite images made on those expeditions. When I'm not out there making photographs, I'm either making artist impressions...
