Is it a city? Or is it the countryside? Large areas in the Netherlands, especially between Rotterdam and The Hague, are used for agriculture in greenhouses. there is definitely some beauty to be found in this city of glass, particularly in older greenhuouses that are no longer in use.
I'm a photographer, designer and visual artist based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Lowlands by the Northsea inspire me tremendously.The grandness of their landscapes, the intimacy of their towns. The canals and rivers, the harbours and boats, the windmills, churches and houses. The ever changing skies over polders and floodplains. For centuries, these lands have inspired painters like Van Ruisdael, Vermeer, Mesdag and Maris. I spend many a day exploring the Netherlands by foot or bike, capturing the beauty of the urban and rural scenery with my camera.
