Hoorn is a truly picturesque port town on the shore of the former Zuiderzee which, since closing the direct connection with the Northsea in the 1930's is a vast lake popular among watersports lovers. the tower dominating this image is the Hoofdtoren, one of the last remains of the town's fortifications.

I'm a photographer, designer and visual artist based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Lowlands by the Northsea inspire me tremendously.The grandness of their landscapes, the intimacy of their towns. The canals and rivers, the harbours and boats, the windmills, churches and houses. The ever changing skies over polders and floodplains. For centuries, these lands have inspired painters like Van Ruisdael, Vermeer, Mesdag and Maris. I spend many a day exploring the Netherlands by foot or bike, capturing the beauty of the urban and rural scenery with my camera.
