Description
In June 1783 the Earth cracked open in southern Iceland over a length of forty kilometers. It was the largest volcanic eruption in Iceland's history, with dramatic consequences. Nowadays, Laki is one of Iceland's finest tourist attractions. Here we see a remnant of the eruption, a small volcano of perhaps only a hundred meters high. What makes it amazing is that it's just one in a forty kilometres long string of little volcanoes.
