Description
The area around Lake Myvatn in the north of Iceland is a catalog of volcanic phenomena. The lake itself is littered with pseudo craters. These are created when lava flows over a hydrous surface and water finds it's way out with explosive force. This image shows Myvatn seen from the "moon crater" Hverfjall; weather conditions provide an extra dramatic effect.
