The image is made by building a 3D model and subsequently materializing and illuminating it in a visualization program.
By repeating a relatively simple shape, an intriguing pattern of pyramids appears.
This work was done in aluminium/aluminum; there is also a version in red metallic and black plastic.
I'm a photographer, designer and visual artist based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Lowlands by the Northsea inspire me tremendously.The grandness of their landscapes, the intimacy of their towns. The canals and rivers, the harbours and boats, the windmills, churches and houses. The ever changing skies over polders and floodplains. For centuries, these lands have inspired painters like Van Ruisdael, Vermeer, Mesdag and Maris. I spend many a day exploring the Netherlands by foot or bike, capturing the beauty of the urban and rural scenery with my camera.
