The Volkerak is a body of water between the island of Goeree-Overflakkee and the mainland of the province of Noord-Brabant. As part of the Rhine-Scheldt Canal between the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerpen it is heavily used by commercial traffic but also quite popular for recreational sailing.

I'm a photographer, designer and visual artist based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Lowlands by the Northsea inspire me tremendously.The grandness of their landscapes, the intimacy of their towns. The canals and rivers, the harbours and boats, the windmills, churches and houses. The ever changing skies over polders and floodplains. For centuries, these lands have inspired painters like Van Ruisdael, Vermeer, Mesdag and Maris. I spend many a day exploring the Netherlands by foot or bike, capturing the beauty of the urban and rural scenery with my camera.
