Hafnarfjörður, a suburb of the Icelandic capital Reykjavik, is literally built between the lava fields. The mossy volcanic rock can be found in the strangest places between the colourful houses, and vice versa.
This "paintification" is based on a photograph that was exposed to textures and filters until an impressionistic, picturesque look emerged.

I'm a photographer, designer and visual artist based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Lowlands by the Northsea inspire me tremendously.The grandness of their landscapes, the intimacy of their towns. The canals and rivers, the harbours and boats, the windmills, churches and houses. The ever changing skies over polders and floodplains. For centuries, these lands have inspired painters like Van Ruisdael, Vermeer, Mesdag and Maris. I spend many a day exploring the Netherlands by foot or bike, capturing the beauty of the urban and rural scenery with my camera.
