Rotterdam's most famous park is actually just called The Park, but is in practice often called The Park near the Euromast, after the famous observation tower which overlooks it.
The Park was laid out in the nineteenth century in the English style to a design by father and son Zocher. The Euromast was built in 1960 on the occasion of the Floriade agricultural exhibition to a design by architect Hugh Maaskant. After addition of the Space Tower in 1970, the tower is 185 meters high, the tallest publicly accessible tower in the Netherlands.

I'm a photographer, designer and visual artist based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Lowlands by the Northsea inspire me tremendously. The grandness of their landscapes, the intimacy of their towns. The canals and rivers, the harbours and boats, the windmills, churches and houses. The ever changing skies over polders and floodplains. For centuries, these lands have inspired painters like Van Ruisdael, Vermeer, Mesdag and Maris. I spend many a day exploring the Netherlands by foot or bike, capturing the beauty of the urban and rural scenery with my camera. This online gallery proudly shows some of my favorite images made on those expeditions. When I'm not out there making photographs, I'm either making artist impressions...
