Description

This virtual relief creates the illusion of depth on a flat surface.

The image is made by building a 3D model and subsequently materializing and illuminating it in a visualization program.

By rotating and copying a relatively simple shape a fascinating pattern of straight and curved surfaces is created.

This work is done in corrugated metal, inspired by the rooftops of Reykjavik, Iceland; there are also variations in gypsum and orange peel.
